Cellulite Myths
Here are some common myths about cellulite. It’s important to know the facts about cellulite so you can adjust your lifestyle. Many people think cellulite goes hand in hand with diet and physical fitness, and that is not always the case.
Cellulite Myth #1:
“Only Women Can Get Cellulite”
This is certainly a myth. Although the reported cases are few and far between, men CAN develop cellulite. Men who are unfortunate enough to develop cellulite should take the same steps to get rid of cellulite that women do. A cellulite massage with a cellulite cream is a discreet way for men to get rid of cellulite without people knowing.
Cellulite Myth #2:
“Specific exercises get rid of cellulite”
Not true. Even the most fit people get cellulite. Although it is a fact that if you have less overall body fat you are less likely to develop the fat pockets that lead to cellulite production.
Cellulite Myth #3:
“Liposuction eliminates cellulite”
Wrong again. While liposuction (lipo) gets rid of fat, it does not get rid of the pockets of fat that are actually cellulite. In fact, some reports say that this can cause a “honeycomb” affect on the skin, creating a very bizarre formation (or deformation) of skin.
Cellulite Myth #4:
“There are miracle foods such as the acai berry that eliminate cellulite.”
While we are big proponents of miracle foods such as the much touted acai berry, there is no one food that will prevent nor eliminate cellulite. While the acai berry extract is great in eye serums, weight loss products, and a great food to implement in an overall diet, it will do nothing for existing cellulite.
